We're delighted to share Josh and Charlie's beautiful farmhouse wedding with you today, which took place at Llantilio House in Abergavenny. The day was relaxed and fun, filled with beautiful flowers and lots of special, personal touches.
Charlie wore a custom wedding dress from Jesus Peiro, combining Styles 2565 and 2509, taking elements from each style to create her dream dress. The result was just perfect for Charlie, with an elegant square neckline and fitted bodice finished with delicate puff sleeves.

A custom Jesus Peiro wedding dress
I was lucky enough to wear a bespoke dress from Jesus Piero which was a beautiful combination of 2565 and 2509. I loved the skirt and the style of the pleats from the 2509 but the sharpness and definition of the square neck from the 2565 with the simple stunning silk mikado with this combination I then decided to add single puff sleeves! I absolutely loved the shape of the neckline and the pockets were just a dream! I had always in my mind thought I’d opt for more of a simple design and this bespoke design was exactly what I would have wanted if I could have designed it myself! On the big day I just felt the absolute best version of myself which is exactly how I wanted to feel and so lucky to be wearing the dress of my dreams!
I brought my mum, Estelle, along with me. She was the one who recommended Miss Bush as had previously visited years ago with a friend and when I told her I desperately wanted to try on Jesus Piero designs she knew Miss Bush was perfect for me! We both had the best day trying on the dresses for the first time and we were lucky to have Emma helping us and she made the whole experience even better! Emma is incredible and is an absolute powerhouse and fountain of knowledge, she was the one who encouraged me to go for a bespoke design when I was in between styles and her input and support was invaluable! Stepping out in the 2509 as my first dress was very emotional as we both knew that this style with the square neck and A line style was the one for me! Then finally once I got to try my bespoke dress on for the first time and see the design come to life was such a special moment and I couldn’t believe how lucky I was that this was my dress! Me and mum loved every experience coming to Miss Bush and will always treasure those times spent in the chapel!
Dress Shopping at Miss Bush
I was very nervous before going dress shopping as someone whose not always been very body confident, I worried that I’d not have that wow moment when trying on dresses. However this couldn’t be further from the reality, the first day at Miss Bush trying on gorgeous Jesus Piero designs (after dreaming of wearing one of them for so long) was one of the best days of my life and I came away feeling beautiful and confident and excited to feel the same way again when the big day came around. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process from trying different designs on, to choosing which aspects from my most loved dresses to incorporate into the final dress and then the final time I tried on my dress where it was all fitted and ready was one of the most incredible feelings, it was all very surreal to see my dream dress finally come to life!
Being someone who’s slightly indecisive I initially was struggling to choose which dress I loved the most- not exactly a bad problem to have! However Emma then informed me that they can create bespoke designs and that they could combine the styles I like the most and even create sleeves to be exactly how I want them! This was music to my ears and it was the best part of the whole experience, knowing I’ve made the dress I always dreamed of and that it’s completely unique is such a special feeling.
Styling
I love a headband but also knew I wanted to wear a veil as part of the day. Jesus Piero created a headband for me made from the same material to match my dress exactly and so I wore my veil for the ceremony and first photographs but then I wore the headband as a party piece later in the day! I knew I wasn’t going to have a second dress so this allowed me to create a second look for the evening party!
I wore a gorgeous custom design veil from Rebecca Anne Designs, which featured embroidery along the bottom of our initials, wedding date and floral designs to match the flowers featuring in my bouquet. My shoes were from Emmy London, with clips that created a Bow design on the front, they were so comfy I still had them on for our first dance!
My jewellery was from Lily and Roo, kindly gifted from my stepfather and mum. I also wore my grandmothers sapphire ring and my stepmothers diamond bracelet as my something old, blue and borrowed.
A fun, floral farmhouse wedding at Llantilio House
We got married at Llantilio House, a gorgeous venue in Abergavenny Wales. A renovated barn with such beautiful accommodation in the farmhouse. We had our ceremony in the intimate calf shed which was lined with beautiful floral meadows and candles, we had our cocktail hours on the outside terrace- we got very lucky with the weather and it was dry all afternoon!
Our reception was held in the beautiful main barn which featured 2 long banquet style tables adorned with incredible vase centrepieces full of fresh seasonal flowers, fresh lemons, pastel colours, it was a complete dream come to life! We had gorgeous handmade welcome signs all in pastel colours and a huge selfie mirror for guests to snap pictures in! Instead of a traditional guestbook we had a bright blue old fashioned phone as our audio guestbook instead.
As we got engaged in Italy we wanted to bring some of that to our big day so our cocktail hour featured Aperol spritz and our food was a complete Italian feast of sharing family style platters of meats, pasta, arancini, fresh vegetables and salads! We then enjoyed cocktail hour with his and hers cocktails of spicy margaritas and french 75’s, a gelato cart for desert and we cut and served our wedding cake up for everyone to enjoy!
Our cocktail hour featured an incredible saxophonist who absolutely brought the party vibe we hoped for and got guests ready to continue partying late into the night!
The best bits
We did our own vows and we both agreed this was one of the best decisions we made of the whole day, we loved hearing each others personal promises and heartfelt words before committing into marriage together. We also loved the saxophonist and there was a moment we were both dancing with him during cocktail hour surrounded by family and friends and it was just an incredible feeling to see everyone we love dancing and celebrating alongside us! Our whole day we felt was just perfect and seeing everything we planned come to life was the best feeling ever!
Charlie's Advice
Just enjoy every moment of it! The whole process goes so fast and even when there are stressful moments just remember how exciting and worthwhile it will all be as honestly your wedding day is the best day of your life and you will feel so much love from it all!
