Suzanne Neville Rosewood with custom Nortier sleeves for Jodie’s Parish’s House Somerset wedding to Matthew
Jodie wore Suzanne Neville's Rosewood wedding dress; a classic, elegant bridal gown made from sleek, draped crepe with the designer's famous hidden corsetry for the most perfect fit. To make the dress her own, Jodie worked with the team at Miss Bush to create a gorgeous custom top in a sheer tulle featuring gathered off the shoulder detailing with billowing sleeves and chic ruched cuffs. The finished result was Jodie's perfect dress, which she styled beautifully on the day with a romantic veil and simple diamond earrings.
Read on to find out more about Jodie's dress shopping experience, and her wonderful wedding to Matthew.

Suzanne Neville Rosewood wedding dress with custom sleeves by Nortier
I chose the Suzanne Neville Rosewood wedding dress and had a custom Nortier sleeve/top added by the team at Miss Bush. I cannot even begin to explain how in love I was with my dress. As someone who has always been tall and curvy with big boobs (34F and size 16/18 at 5ft 10) the thought of being the centre of attention on my wedding day filled me with dread. However, the dress hugged my curves and made me feel confident and sexy! Which I never thought possible.
I brought my mum and maid of honour to the final fitting. They loved the dress and couldn't get over the detail - my maid of honour in particular was obsessed with the cuff/sleeve detail (not that she was saying that when she had to button up all the buttons on the morning of my wedding day)
Dress Shopping
I think the moment I walked into the chapel I knew it was going to be special.
Having been to 3 other bridal boutiques before, Miss Bush felt like home to me. The care and passion Emma and the team have to make one of the most important decisions of your life feel considered without feeling overwhelming, is nothing short of magical. I knew I was in the right place when Emma was referencing some of my favourite Ru Paul's Drag Race stars and designers - I thought to myself I found my people!
I pulled together a detailed brief on how I wanted to feel, previous outfits I felt good in, parts of me I loved and parts of me I wasn't so obsessed with and the team took the brief and NAILED IT. The attention to detail the team have is honestly mind blowing. Ben and Emma were the creative visionaries where Jo and Adrien worked to make it come to life and I am grateful to them all for creating such a piece of art - with kindness and a side of humour.
My main issue I had with dress shopping was how I felt about myself, but Miss Bush always put me at ease and didn't give me the fluffy 'bridal spiel'. I really appreciated the language Emma used when describing my shape and how I looked - even down to measuring me with string vs a traditional measuring tape, which has connotations of dimly lit department store bra fittings. I appreciated the love and care she put into every fitting making you feel like the most important person without feeling under pressure.
Styling
Nothing major other than a stunning veil and a M&S thong - my shoes were from a random bridal website (sadly no Carrie moments here!). My earrings however, were made out of the diamonds from my second engagement ring (the story behind me having more than one engagement ring is for another time, but involves a Tuscan vineyard, lots of wine and a stroke of luck.)
A Joyful, Romantic and Fun wedding in Somerset
We got married in Parish's House, which is just outside of Frome in Somerset in a modern English Garden Wedding. This is where my Danish relatives settled when they moved to the UK so held a special place in my Dad's heart. We had an entirely outdoor ceremony which was risky given the lack of sunshine we've had this year - but after burying a Sainsbury's Taste the Difference sausage the night before (apparently a omen of good luck and weather) the UK experienced a mini heatwave! Guess it works then...
The wedding flowers were in soft pastel shades of champagne, blush pink, peach, apricot and soft caramel tones with dusky blue and soft lilac all combined with lots of fresh green and sage green foliage. We used only seasonal blooms, foraged foliage and herbs which created a really pretty and whimsical look. The flower selection included typical English garden themed flowers such as garden Roses, Delphiniums and Hydrangeas, but we then mixed in strawberry flowers (which is the national fruit of Denmark).
I walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of a band me and my husband both mutually adore - The Foo Fighters and we were married by The London Celebrant who is a fabulous Peckham based vegan yoga instructor and made our ceremony BEYOND memorable.
I designed an order of service in the style of a wedding newspaper in collaboration with my Dad, who has designed newspapers for a living - so felt special to be able to design this one together. I hand painted 130 guests names on tamborines which doubled up as table names, a great gift for guests and a fabulous entrance for us when we arrived into the marquee! The wedding cake was a metre long champagne soaked sponge with elderflower swiss meringue - with strawberry swirls.
My bridesmaids were in pastel yellow, blue, green and pink - and they picked whatever they felt most confident in!
I could go on but as a details focused person the day was perfect and I am here for the personal touches
The best bits
That is tricky!
1. Getting ready with the girls in the morning and having (just one) Hendricks G&T and feeling all the excitement.
2. Walking away from a magical ceremony with my new husband to turn the corner as a married couple and see the outdoor spritz bar in the sunshine.
3. If I could have one more it would the entrance to the marquee with all the hand-painted tambourines rattling in the air! AND the speeches were excellent (promise that's my last one)
Jodie's Advice
Lean into the wedding cringe - do the first dance to your favourite song, get the longer veil, get the extra flowers - just go for it if you can! The bride sets the vibe on the day and if you feel joyful and relaxed your guests will feel the same. You won't regret it!
