Custom Jesus Peiro for Steph’s countryside marquee wedding in Leicestershire

There's a first time for everything, and today is the first time we've ever featured a bride and groom leaving the church in a JCB! Steph and Fred were married in the beautiful Leicestershire village of Tugby, with a traditional ceremony at the local church. After making their vows, the newlyweds were whisked off in a JCD to celebrate their marriage at the groom's family home, at an elegant, relaxed marquee reception, filled with beautifully styled flowers and personal touches.

Steph wore a custom creation from Jesus Peiro, combining elements she loved from two different styles, taking the halter neck bodice from 2531 and the sleek elegant skirt of the 2507, all made from soft lucca satin/ This was topped with a custom cape in flowing silk chiffon, made in-house by Nortier at Miss Bush. To style her look, Steph kept things simple, with classic gold jewellery and a romantic single tier veil.

Read on for more details about the day and Steph's dress in her own words, with gorgeous images by Georgi Mabee.

A custom Jesus Peiro wedding dress

My dress combined the top of the Jesus Piero 2531 and the skirt of the 2507, we changed the back and waist height and the whole dress in the Luca Satin.

I actually found the dress on my own. I found dress shopping with other people really overwhelming and I just needed to work it out myself without other opinions. Also because the dress was such a mix, the vision didn’t really come together until the end, so we really had to trust the process. But as soon as I showed my mum and bridesmaids the vision they knew it was perfect!

Dress Shopping at Miss Bush

My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was Emma allowing me to have a play and find my style, I found the whole dress shopping experience very ‘cookie cutter’ and I didn’t feel like anyone really understood my style. When I told Emma how I wanted to feel we just had so much fun trying new things. She literally put a skirt around my neck, at which point I said ‘that’s the one!’ - who knew!

Styling

It was a halter neck dress with a bespoke silk cape which covered me for the church and I had as a neck scarf for the exit and reception. The cape was the product of the skirt around my neck moment!

My best friend’s mum very kindly offered for me to borrow her vintage Bulgari earrings with a beautiful blue topaz stone and diamond which really brought the outfit together.

I wore my mums bangle with a sapphire and a diamond, and my engagement ring is an aquamarine, so my look had hints of blue.

My shoes were Rainbow Club (a recommendation from Emma) and they were the Aria style.

A relaxed, elegant marquee wedding at home in Leicestershire

We had a very traditional English countryside style wedding. We got married in the church in the village we met in, doing takeaway pints in lockdown when we were both living back with our parents. We then had the reception in a marquee at Fred’s parents house in the village next door (where we are both from) which turned into the best and biggest party.

Personal touches were leaving the church in a JCB, and having our favourite wines, Minuty and Nyetimber.

The best bits

There wasn’t one moment. I remember my maid of honour asking me what I was most excited for, and it was just the feeling of pure elation and feeling everyone’s love and energy, and every single moment was filled with it, so much more than I could have ever imagined.

Steph's Advice

Don’t rush, don’t feel any pressure to make any decisions you’re not completely happy with. And trust the process.
