Jesus Peiro 2406 wedding dress

I chose to wear the 2406. My first appointment was with Corrine and I felt like she quickly understood my style and what I was looking for. I had been to two other boutiques so new what I liked and what I didn’t like. Based on this, I selected some dresses to try on which I liked but Corrine suggested I try brought the 2406. I instantly loved the puff sleeves, square neck and stunning fabric but was unsure about wearing a two-piece. It didn’t feel traditional and what if my tummy was on show! But as soon as I tried it on, I was in love. The silhouette was so fun, the fabric made my skin glow, and I could finally imagine my day in this dress. I was initially worried about choosing something too trend led but Corinne had said to me that a wedding is a moment in time and represents who you are at that moment, it doesn’t always need to be ‘trendy’ and that stuck with me. I returned a few weeks later, by myself, and placed the order with Emma. I imagine she thought I was a very efficient bride as I was in and out very quickly!

I took my mum and sister (MoH) to my first appointment. I trusted their opinion, I knew they’d support whatever choice I made. My mum loved every dress I tried on, I think she just loved seeing me as a bride. My sister had more constructive advice. They both loved the 2406 and both felt it felt so 'me'. I bought my mother-in-law to to my first fitting. I can’t lie, I was worried she hate it, particularly as it was a two-piece. But she was emotional and loved it!

Dress Shopping

I loved my dress experience although it wasn’t typical. My mum and sister live in the Channel Islands and came to visit for a long weekend to dress shop. I booked 3 boutiques over 3 days, something I wouldn’t recommend, but I really wanted them there with me. Miss Bush was the final shop we visited which was recommended by my almost sister-in-law who also got her dress from you. I had done my research on the designers and knew which dresses I wanted to try on. Miss Bush’s vision aligned with my own and I was made to feel so comfortable during my experience there. Wedding dress shopping is intimidating but I never felt that whilst in the Chapel. I love fashion and so getting to play dress up was so much fun.

Weight loss left me needing a lot of alterations however Jo and the team did the most incredible job and the dress fit me so perfectly on the day. The alterations were flawless.

Styling

The dress did most of the talking so styling was easy. I wore the Mia Pearl slingbacks from Charlotte Mills. I feel like they were made to be worn with this dress!

I wore a simple pearl pendant that my mum had gifted me on my 30th birthday, some drop pearl earrings that were a wedding gift from Tom and my grandmothers engagement ring. My veil was simple, ivory, chapel length which I swapped for a bow from H&M after our wedding breakfast.

The perfume I wore was Bal D'Afrique, from Byredo.

A magical wedding at Caswell House

We got married at the stunning Caswell House in the Cotswold’s on the sunniest of autumn days. Caswell House was the perfect setting, providing that classic Cotswold vibe and really celebrating the beauty of the English countryside. We chose to get married in the autumn as I am obsessed with autumn leaves and Tom has terrible allergies, so the summer was a no-go! Tom and his best man wore stone coloured suits from Moss and my bridesmaids wore dark green dresses that they had chosen themselves. We opted for white florals with dark green foliage as I wanted the orange and red from the trees surrounding the grounds to bring in the colour. We had Nero Strings play as a string quartet for our ceremony and drinks reception. I loved that they could play modern songs, and most guests commented on the Jurassic Park theme which played during the drink’s reception. My shoes were Charlotte Mills, and my jewellery was pearls gifted by my mother for my 30th birthday and Tom as a wedding gift. I wore a simple, full, chapel length veil with my hair down. I had decided to do my own hair and make up for the day. I loved the process in the morning, getting ready with my girls whilst listening to Chappell Roan and Beyonce. The ritual was calming, and I was thankful to be able to spend the morning with just my favourite woman. Food was by Ross and Ross and our canapes were stunning, including one of my favourite snacks, sausage rolls. Our wedding breakfast was a BBQ sharing board which was delicious and went down a treat with our guests. We were keen for a sharing main as we felt it brought people together and was a conversation starter on tables. We opted for two banquet style tables without a top table and between courses, walked down the middle, chatting to our guests as we went. Our cake was from M&S (yum and affordable) and in the evening we gorged on stone backed pizzas. At the end of the day, we ate cake and pizza in the bath together at 2am and debriefed on the day. It was magical.

The best bits

Getting to the end of the aisle to Tom. It was what the last 18 months of planning had led up to and getting to him, holding his hands and looking in his eyes was a moment and feeling I will fever forget. My second favourite moment was our last song, Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan. We sang and danced surrounded by our best friends and family, it really was a main character moment.

Katie's Advice

The most beautiful part of the day is sharing your love with your favourite people, so make the day as authentically you as possible. It can easily become a very stressful process but try not to let it as planning the day together is so special.

With regards to finding your dress, do your research first. There is no point in visiting a shop if they don't have the style of dress you are looking for, you'll leave disappointed! Trust your stylists. And shut out the noise.
