It's no secret that we love an intimate London town hall wedding, so we're of course delighted to share Elle and Phil's fun and relaxed Islington Town Hall wedding with you today. The ceremony was small and intimate, followed by a photography session in the streets of London with their photographer, Binky Nixon, who captured some iconic London wedding images. The couple then went on to celebrate with family and friends at The Londesborough pub.

Elle chose the perfect dress for their wedding day, opting for Sophie et Voila's Dune wedding dress. This fun, playful gown was just made for a city wedding, with a short straight mini skirt accentuated by huge statement puff sleeves and a dramatic train. Elle styled her look with a sleek updo, topped with a simple pearl headband and a romantic veil. For footwear, Elle chose a pair of classic but comfortable sandals from Louboutin.

Read on for the full feature all about Elle and Phil's day, with a full gallery of gorgeous images from Binky Nixon.

Sophie et Voila Dune wedding dress

Such a beautiful, stylish modern dress which was perfect for the venue.

My Mum came with me when I found the dress, and she kept crying! Loved it so much. All I remember was my mum saying “it’s just you, it’s perfect”

I would say that my favourite part of the dress shopping experience was... all of it! From the start with Ben (I would love to go back to that now!) to the final fitting. The whole experience was just incredible and so so special.

Styling

I had the most perfect Christian Louboutins strappy sandal, in sort of an off white/ baby pink colour. I matched my dress with a cute pearl headband / and a plain vale. The dress really did the talking!!

An intimate wedding at Islington town hall

Our wedding was so small! Choosing just 10 of our closest family, we decided to get married at Islington town hall as we just love London so much.

After a lovely small ceremony, with the most stunning reading from my sister in law there was not a dry eye in the room! It was so calm and small you really could feel the love in there, it was amazing. After we went to the Londesborough for food, my now father in law said it felt like he was having a Sunday roast with his family - exactly how we wanted it!

Then… the best part, off we went to lucky voice to do one of our favorite things… karaoke! It was such a great way to end our day, we had a private room and sung the night away to our fave songs! Honestly perfect for us.

The best bits

I’d say putting my dress on with my mum was so special. But walking down the aisle with my dad and Phil seeing me was for sure up there too!! There are so many… just walking out the town hall was so lovely.

Elle's Advice

Do what you want! Enjoy it as it’s over in a flash… get the dress of your dreams as it really is the one day you remember what you wore!
