Welcome to 2019! Our wedding today is one that I’d been looking forward to seeing for some time, as bride Sarah is a brilliant artist who transformed one of her pieces into an amazing bespoke jacket. Working with the original artwork, we had a beautiful custom silk made, which our Production Manager, Jo, developed into a fab bomber jacket.

The arts theme continued throughout the day, with handmade elements and thoughtful details dedicated to Sarah and Jerome’s life together, and an itinerary of performance and entertainment. The day looked relaxed, authentic and full of joy.

Sarah tells us all about it in her own words…

JESUS PEIRO 8013 SIMPLE CONTEMPORARY WEDDING DRESS

I wore Jesus Piero 8013 – dress only with a silk bomber jacket made to measure by Jo at Miss Bush and the print designed out of one of my own paintings. Everything fit so beautifully and I felt amazing!

DRESS SHOPPING

I felt like I was in really good hands. Emma and Jo have a very strong sense of style and really seemed to know exactly what I wanted – even if i didn’t at the time! They were also very open to experimenting with different ideas, like designing my own silk jacket to wear with the dress,

STYLING

Boho bride with a twist. I had loose hair – half-up/half-down with wild-flowers, natural make-up, a personalised silk bomber jacket made from my own artwork and silver platform shoes (2inch!) by Prada.

A BOHEMIAN ARTISTS WEDDING

The theme was art, music and performance. The day was a celebration of all the things that we love most with all the people we love the most!

Every table represented a different artist that Jerome and I love, there were thirteen altogether. I made a small replica of a painting by each artist to go at the head of every table – one side the image and the other side i drew on the artist’s signature. I then had the chosen image printed onto cards and used them as placemats – one side the image, the other the guests name and inside a personal thank you message! This took a while but was a really nice touch plus the name cards added lovely rings of colour around each table!

My bother has his own comedy company called Sleeping Trees, so they were the Masters of Ceremony for the day and also performed a small sketch in the courtyard before the meal which was hilarious!

Jerome and his friends put on a surprise serenade in the courtyard after the meal and we had one of our favourite bands Bare Hunter play a set in between super DJ sets from our friend and excellent DJ Chris Jack (who was also an usher!)

THE BEST BITS

Walking down the aisle with my lovely dad, the musical serenade and the speeches were definitely highlights!

What I really loved more than anything was how amazing and generous our friends and family were – all chipping in with their many different skills to help make the day super special. Our good friend Danny, who is a top chef, did all the food, his brother Chris was the DJ, their cousin Natasha designed all the rings and jewellery, our friend Shiv did our hair and make-up, Siwan dressed all the flowers at the table, my aunties put together the cheescake, the Sleeping Trees, the serenade, Mary and Simon made all the courtyard decorations… the list goes on! That is what made it all so wonderful!

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

Try not to stress…also you really can trust the the whole team at Miss Bush so you will be in safe hands!
