A year ago, I was locked in a legal and financial battle to buy our amazing Chapel home. The battle took all my strength, all my resources, and prevented me from investing in new brands for Miss Bush. It also helped me clarify my position on our existing wedding dress labels.

Out went brands who could not show me where their dresses were made and couldn’t account for their air miles. Out went brands that couldn’t adapt a design to a bride’s preference. Out went brands that couldn’t offer made to measure. Out went brands that don’t work in a transparent way. Out went brands who are more interested in mass markets than niche partnerships.

Like any life laundry, any Marie Kondo style purge, it is very satisfying, but also helps you identify spaces that could be filled…

Introducing Anna Kara...

Sarah Stalker is a bridalwear agent I have worked with for 15 years, and is now the representative for Anna Kara in the UK. From February Sarah had been begging me to see her new collection, but we kept missing each other; I was unable to see her at London Bridal Week, then had to fly home early from Barcelona for my daughter’s headline gig. We finally met in July and ‘wow!’

The Anna Kara collection was the missing element of our offer. Miss Bush has always been strong on minimalism, fits the best corseted dresses, and has separates and fashion forward pieces. The missing jigsaw piece was soft, light and romantic dresses. Importantly though for our philosophy, I wanted them to European made, traceable and made from gorgeous fabrics. More difficult than you might believe.

I wasn’t prepared to compromise or take a label that I didn’t love to fill a gap on our rails. Boutiques don’t get given samples for brides to try on, I am spending my own money and if you think you are fussy as a bride you have not seen me on a buying trip…

Coming soon!

The wait won’t be long, the dresses are due in October and you know us, we will probably have an epic launch party so get on the mailing list now!
