Suzanne Neville Negresco and Nortier lace top for Tara’s magical family wedding at home in Abbots Bromley
We are delighted to share Tara and Tom's magical wedding, which took place in the picturesque village of Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire. The day began with a traditional church ceremony at the local church, followed by a magical marquee reception in the garden of the bride's family home, filled with good food, stunning flowers and special, happy moments.
Tara wore Suzanne Neville's 'Negresco' wedding dress; a style created especially for Miss Bush with elements we loved from the iconic Amber and Gigi wedding dresses, combining a structured bodice, wide shoulder straps and an elegant flared skirt, all made from luxurious crepe. To style her wedding dress, Tara added an exquisite lace top from Nortier, featuring delicate botanical lace, a high neckline, scalloped lace sleeves and structured puff shoulders. The top was removed later in the day, allowing Tara to transform her look between the reception and evening celebrations. To finish her look, Tara added her Mum's earrings, a co-ordinating lace veil and stylish Sophia Webster bow slingbacks.

Suzanne Neville Negresco wedding dress and Nortier lace top
I wore a Suzanne Neville Negresco dress with a jacket from Nortier. I loved how timeless it felt, and that I could have two different looks for the day and the evening. I adored the scalloped edges on the jacket, which tied in perfectly with my veil, and the waist belt felt so me. The figure-hugging silhouette Suzanne Neville is known for was incredibly flattering, and the neckline worked beautifully with the jacket. I also loved the subtle puff at the shoulders, which added just the right amount of structure.
Most importantly, it was so comfortable. I could move, laugh, dance, and hug everyone without ever feeling restricted!
My Mum and my sister were with me when I found my dress. My Mum loved every single dress I tried on, while my sister gave me the honest feedback you really need as a bride - especially when there are so many options and details to think about.
Dress Shopping at Miss Bush
Being able to design my dream dress was such a special experience. From the moment I arrived, Ben made me feel completely welcome and at ease. Within minutes, he reassured me that I didn’t need to fall in love with a dress straight away—and that we could build something that truly suited me. That instantly took the pressure off, and it’s exactly what we ended up doing by combining elements from different dresses I’d tried on.
Meeting Suzanne Neville herself was another unforgettable moment. She drew my dress design so I could really visualise my dream style, which made it all feel so real. She was so down to earth and genuinely lovely, and that sketch is something I’ll treasure forever.
I visited countless shops up and down the country, paying fitting fees each time and often leaving feeling a bit deflated and unfulfilled. But the moment I stepped into the Chapel at Miss Bush, I felt instantly welcome—and suddenly everything just clicked.
As mentioned above, Ben was incredible and helped me piece together elements from different dresses to create my absolute dream dress. From that point on, the whole experience felt personal, thoughtful, and completely right.
Styling
I wore my mum’s vintage pearl drop earrings from when she got married 25 years ago, which felt incredibly special. They worked perfectly with the timeless, classic look I was going for during the day and added such a meaningful, personal touch. My scallop-edged veil tied in beautifully with my jacket, and I finished the look with Sophia Webster slingbacks for a modern but elegant touch.
A magical wedding day at the bride's family home
We got married in my (Tara's) local village church in Abbots Bromley, followed by a reception at my family home.
Guests gathered for drinks reception on the lawn, where Tara’s dad gave the most beautiful outdoor speech, and then welcomed into the marquee.
After speeches and food came the woodland magic: a festival-style disco spot, hand-built by Tara’s dad, complete with Rosemary’s Bar (named after Tara’s Grandma) serving cocktails before the party really kicked off back inside the marquee.
The best bits
We loved every single second of it. Having everyone we love together in one place to celebrate us was incredibly emotional and something we’ll never forget. It also felt like a bittersweet farewell, as shortly afterwards we relocated to Abu Dhabi to begin married life together.
We truly enjoyed the build-up to the wedding too - especially the challenge of transforming a muddy field into a beautiful wedding venue. It became a real labour of love and gave us plenty of chances to put our DIY skills to the test. We’ll always be so grateful to our family and friends who came together in the months leading up to the day, pitching in and making it all look so spectacular.
Tara's Advice
Try not to put too much pressure on it all. When it comes to your dress, trust how it makes you feel rather than how it looks on a hanger or how you think it should be. The right one usually gives you a sense of calm, not panic—and you’ll know when it feels like you. Comfort matters more than you realise, especially on a long, emotional day.
For wedding planning in general, focus on what actually matters to you as a couple and let go of the rest. Not every decision needs to be perfect, and some of the best moments come from things not going exactly to plan. Accept help when it’s offered, enjoy the build-up as much as the day itself, and remember that at the heart of it all is the simple joy of getting married to your person.
