Georgie in custom Jesus Peiro for a colourful alfresco South of France wedding

When Georgie and Oliver started to plan their wedding they talked about all of their favourite things; holidays, sunshine, alfresco dining, live music, good wine and bright colours. The obvious conclusion was a destination wedding, and the couple settled on the incredible Le Manoir du Bout du Pont in the South of France.

Georgie wore a custom Jesus Peiro wedding dress, combining the elegant off-the-shoulder neckline from style 160, and the romantic tulle skirt from style 213. The result was a playful but elegant wedding dress which was just perfect for ballet dancer Georgie. To style the dress, Georgie wanted to add some pops of colour, which she achieved with hot pink heels and bold flowers in her hair which she styled in a bun in another nod to her love for ballet.

Read on to find out all about Georgie and Oliver's wedding day, and find out more about Georgie's dress shopping journey.

A custom Jesus Peiro wedding dress

I fell in love with Jesus Peiro dresses the moment they caught my eye whilst browsing online. In the end I went for a custom Jesus Peiro dress made from the top of the 160 and the 213 skirt and I couldn’t of chosen a more ‘me’ dress if I tried. It was perfect! It made me feel like the best version of myself and the most elegant, fun, beautiful bride. I couldn’t imagine myself wearing anything else on my wedding day. I knew I wanted something classic, but something fun at the same time and my dress was just ME all over! As a ballet teacher, everyone thought it was a very balletic dress which just meant it was made for me!! It made me feel the best version of myself - Elegant, romantic and beautiful. I loved the tulle and how I could grab it and pick it up without worrying about creases. In the day I felt so romantic and then I danced all night swishing it around the dance floor and it was so light and airy for a hot day. We ended up putting boning in the bodice and it fitted like a glove. Everyone commented and are still commenting on how amazing it looked.

Dress Shopping

When I found my dress, I had my mum and mother in law with me and my two sisters and grandma on zoom. We all had to vision the dress as we created a bespoke dress but the moment we all laid eyes on the 213 skirt there was nothing else that compared. That skirt was just made for me and everyone agreed straight away!! The mums shed a tear and I just swanned around the chapel floor in awe. Corinne was incredible at guiding us through all the different dresses and really understood what style I was after.

My favourite part of the dress shopping experience... that’s hard as I loved every part! Definitely trying on the dresses because it was so much fun and I loved finding out what I suited and what I didn’t. But nothing will ever compare to when I first saw my custom dress and putting it on. I cried. It was more beautiful than I had ever imagined. I will also say that not taking any photos throughout the whole experience is amazing. Remembering your dress on how you felt and not looking back and criticizing... plus when everyone asks to see it, you physically can’t show them! I didn’t actually enjoy my time spent at the first shop I went to because I felt like I had to figure it out all on my own whereas I have to say that the Miss Bush experience is completely unique!

Styling

I have always wanted to be a traditional bride but I also wanted to be ME most of all. I wanted the fun side of me which is why I had the Jesus Peiro 213 skirt. I've never been fond of lace or embellishments and knew I wanted something simple but not boring. I loved swishing it around the dance floor and being able to just grab it and pick it up. It also felt romantic and grand which was exactly what I had envisioned. I wanted a balletic and elegant feel too as I’m a ballet dancer and love traditional, so the neckline just suited me down to a tee and I felt AMAZING. Another thing about me is that my wardrobe is far from bland as I love bright colours, so I definitely wanted to incorporate some colour and so I chose to have bright flowers from my florist in my hair and bright pink heels to match (obviously on wedding theme). Having the wedding outside on grass, I knew I need a chunky comfortable heel and white was never an option for me. I found the most beautiful hot pink heels which I love - They gave me colour, they were fun and I'm going to wear them every summer going forward! I highly recommend going for bright shoes, they looked so fab and everyone commented on them. Plus I wore them practically all honeymoon. Having my hair down was never an option even though my hair is down the majority of the time. 1. It was going to be hot, 2. I wanted an elegant, balletic look and 3. I didn’t have to worry about it at all. Oh and with the neckline I chose, it just looked soooooo good up! I also had a classic one length Jesus Peiro veil which I actually didn’t end up taking out until the very end... it just completed my look and made me feel so bridal, I loved it! I loved my pearl earrings, I got them from Ora Pearls. With larger ear lobes (eek) dainty was not an option and I didn't want studs as with my hair up, the neckline of dreams and no necklace I wanted to make more of a statement. They were perfect! My style summed up was definitely traditional up top and a party down below and that couldn't sum me up even more if I tried!!

About the Day

Before we started planning we sat down together and thought what would our perfect day look like and consist of?! HOLIDAY! Sun, being outside, eating alfresco, summer garden vibes, good wine, bright colours, live music. And that’s exactly what we did! We chose to go abroad as the British weather is a bit too unpredictable for our liking, however we didn’t want to go too far so it was easy for our guests... So south of France it was! So that checked off being on holiday in the sun, being outside, eating alfresco and good wine. And it was very good wine. We had a religious ceremony which was very formal. This was important to us. And we loved how even though it was a summer wedding abroad, our guests were dressed to their best and men in suits and ties. We found the most ‘us’ venue. A gorgeous manor house with the most beautiful grounds full of colour and a wild garden too. It was perfect! We felt we didn't need to style the venue that much as we were surrounded by nature and beautiful flowers anyway. We went for our bright flowers in gin bottles and fresh petals along the isle (Bright pink, orange and pale blue were our colours just because they are our fav). It gave that pop of colour without it being over the top. We loved our table layout being a top table and then two long tables down either side. It felt more intimate and that we were close to all our guests, and with sharing platters as our food it was so much fun! I found pale blue cheese cloths off Etsy which ran down the middle of the tables and candlesticks and holders that matched our flowers. Also we used the gin bottles with the flowers in again and it just looked simple, colourful and super summery. We saved wine corks at home and placed the name places in them - Very french and they looked fab! Lighting was important to us and when it got late we had lots of twinkly lights and lanterns in the lime tree to give that cosy vibe we wanted. In the day our band were amongst our guests playing music and then we opened the barn for the dance floor in the evening and had a cheese tower as a wedding cake (best decision we ever made!!). The day felt like a summer dream. Everyone outside having the best time, the band playing, the champagne flowing and everyone on holiday on cloud 9!

The best bits

I loved every second of my wedding day. Nothing went wrong (Phew!) and looking back, I honestly wouldn't change anything! I don't think I can chose a favourite part. I loved the ceremony, it was just the best feeling to be in that moment with all my favourite people as witnesses. I loved the speeches, I cried and laughed over and over again. I loved dancing the night away, so much so that no one wanted to leave when the bus turned up at 1am!

Georgie's Advice

My advice to brides to be would be to find a dress that is YOU. Don't think about anyone else when you try all the wonderful dresses on and think about how you feel and how you want to look. I loved not having any photos of me in any dresses so I only could remember how I felt and not analyse bad photos. I also didn't share any of my dress details with anyone which meant I had no opinions and it was such a special surprise for everyone.

We couldn't of planned our wedding without our wedding planner - If you're getting married abroad, it's definitely worth the money!!

If your venue doesn’t need dressing up.. don’t do it! Don’t ask 100 people for their opinion, just the people that matter and still you don’t have to agree! Oh and get a good photographer because you will cherish those pictures of memories forever. We chose a storyteller so most of our images are natural and unposed and we flick through them and can literally relive the day. It’s amazing!

Oh and enjoy every moment, everyone says it but try and take it all in! Ollie and I spent lots of moments throughout the day alone to connect and it was magical.
