It is wonderful to be able to share Katie and Tim's magical Surrey wedding with you today, which took place at All Saints' Church, Ockham followed by a beautifully styled marquee reception in the garden of the bride's Granny's home.  The day was packed with personal touches and thoughtful details along with tons of stunning, vibrant florals. It was very special to welcome Katie to the chapel as the second generation of Miss Bush brides from her family, along with her Granny and Mum, who visited us many years ago, and her sister Sammy whose wedding you can see here.

Katie wore Jesus Peiro 2406, a two piece bridal outfit which Katie had customised as a full dress. Katie also adjusted the sleeves to be made without cuffs, and had the dress created in beautiful Regina satin. To style her look, Katie embraced her love of colour, wearing vibrant hot pink platforms which went brilliantly with the colourful florals throughout the day. The perfect finishing touch was a full length statement veil scattered with delicate flowers, made by Nortier at Miss Bush.

Read on for the full feature along with words from Katie about her dress shopping experience and wedding to Tim.

Jesus Peiro 2406 wedding dress

I wore a Jesus Piero dress and wore it all day and all night. My main criteria was can I dance all night in it and each the canapés, I did both and felt comfy in it all day.

My Mum and my Granny were with me when I chose the dress. It was a very special moment. My Granny had been to Miss Bush with my Mum to get her dress when it was the other side of the road, and my sister.

Dress Shopping at Miss Bush

My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was trying on all the different dresses! I genuinely felt like a little girl again playing dress up.

I was lucky that I didn't have any major issues when dress shopping (or I didn't see them as issues) but Miss Bush made me feel like a million dollars every time I put the dress on.

Styling

My Mum gave me some diamond and sapphire earrings that my Dad had given her that I wore and loved.

I wore bright pink shoes that added a bit of fun to the look as I love colour so couldn't not.

And we MUST have a moment to the veil. I love flowers and the veil had little daisies on that I am obsessed with.

The look was very me.

A magical Surrey wedding day

We got married at my Granny's house which for me was incredibly special as it has been where I have grown up and was one of the first places that I bought Tim to meet my family. Clare Doggart from Doggart and Squash is a very good friend (her brother was a bridesmaid), Dom (photographer) became a very good friend as I met her at all my friends weddings and my videographer Susanna is a very old family friend, so it was very special having close friends helping me bring this day to life.

Tim and I love all the pubs around where we live so each table was a pub and each persons name was on a personlised coaster that I designed.

I always wanted a clear roof marquee and the ladders of greenery and flowers with hanging lights which looked absolutely beautiful at night, especially on the drone shots.

I am 4th generation Hong Kong and spent a lot of my 20's there before I met Tim. We also LOVE asian fusion food so we asked Doggart and Squash if they could make us an asian menu. Most people say dont worry too much about the food but as foodies, we wanted food people would remember. To this day we have people telling us that the canapés were the best they had ever had.

Put the bar near the dance floor and people wont leave it. And literally, people did not leave the dance floor. It helped that the band was INSANE.

The best bits

Getting ready at my grannys house with all of my best friends. Lots of people thought 8 bridesmaids was too many but all i wanted was all my favourite people l with me the morning of my wedding and that is what I had.

Standing in a church in a white dress next to your best friend. Its a pretty sureal moment and one I will never forget.

My husband loves the Lion King and I love Les Mis. I made a joke to my husband how fun it would be to have the cast of Les Mis perform at the wedding and he told me absolutely not. So I had to surprise him! I ended my speech with "Lets start as we mean to go on, welcome the cast of Les Mis." After a couple of songs, he turned to me and said that he didn't know any of them and a couple of moments later, Rafiki came out and the whole place went wild. My Mum and I were the only people that knew about it and it was everything I wanted it to be. It gives me shivers thinking about it now.

Katie's Advice

Find the dress that makes you feel like a princess because you will know when it is right.

Sweat the small stuff. People say dont worry about it but DO! Its your wedding day and they usually arent cheap. But on the day, let it all go and enjoy every second of it.

Planning a wedding is intense. Cry when you want to cry, its ok!

If you need to cut down your guest list, pop each guest in a past, present, future box. If they don't fit in 2 boxes, don't invite them or put them on a B list. It is cut throat but sometimes you have to and in the future, you will be happy you did.
