Lauren in custom Jesus Peiro 217 for a rural countryside wedding at home on the farm
We're off to the East coast of Scotland today for Lauren and Jimmy's rural wedding in the stunning St Andrews countryside. With an intimate ceremony taking place at St Leonard’s church, the couple celebrated with an elegantly styled reception at the bride's family farm, Knockhill Farm.
Lauren is the first bride we've shared wearing Jesus Peiro's stunning 217 strapless gown, with a twist! Lauren customised the bodice to include the ruched element of Style 2203, which wraps around beautifully at the waist. One element of 217 which Lauren loved was the split skirt, which showed off her mustard LK Bennett heels perfectly!
Read on to find out more about the day in Lauren's own words, and enjoy the stunning images of her wedding to Jimmy...
Custom Jesus Peiro 217 wedding dress
This was and still is my dream dress, even though I maybe didn’t realise it at the time of picking the dress and getting it adjusted to suit me. It really was everything I wanted, it had that different edge to it yet still quite classic in some ways. I felt the best version of myself and didn’t worry about any of the things I had said I was going to be concerned about. The split up the front of the dress was just wow! I don’t think I’ll ever wear anything as cool as my wedding dress ever again, I really did feel amazing!
I had several trips from Scotland to see you all, my Mum Linda and two sisters Jen and Kate came with me. When we came for our final dress fitting we knew it was right and was just so perfect!
Dress Shopping
Emma and all the girls made me feel so comfortable even though I was a complete pain!!! No issue was too big and they went above and beyond to help me create my dream dress!
The Miss Bush team were all so helpful and were able to sort out everything so efficiently, I’ll be forever grateful!
Styling
I wore mustard coloured L K Bennet heels, they were just amazing! The split on my dress allowed for everyone to see them!
I wore a beautiful, simple veil which I got from Miss Bush and a gorgeous comb made by Miss Clemie.
A rural countryside wedding at home on the farm
The day was everything we had hoped for. After we had got married in the church we went back to the farm to have an outdoor ceremony as we couldn’t have all our guests in the church, so my dad got to walk me down the aisle twice! It was the hottest day in summer teaching 27°, with St Andrews beach in the distance and views to die for from the farm it was just magical. We went for a very classic theme with lots of summer flowers. Jimmy grows a lot of potatoes so we had miniature potato boxes as place settings and old fashioned potato baskets where what our flowers sat in. We wanted our marquee to represent us and with me being a teacher we used a large roller blackboard as our table plan.
The best bits
I loved how relaxed and chilled the day was, but I think my favourite part was walking down the aisle to meet Jimmy and our first dance! It was absolutely wild, we danced to a speeded up version on American Pie by Don McLean.
Lauren's Advice
Try on the dress that you think you don’t like or won’t suit! My dress was everything I said I didn’t want at the beginning!
