Catt in Jesus Peiro 121 with 268 top for a fun, relaxed wedding at Herons Farm in Reading

Catt and Ben's wedding looked so fun and fabulous! Taking place at Herons Farm in Pangbourne, Reading, the vibe was relaxed and laid back, but with lots of beautiful styling and personal touches to make the day extra special. The ceremony took place at Holy Trinity Church, Theale.

Catt wore a gorgeous bridal outfit made from a combination of styles from Jesus Peiro. As an early adopter of the current split wrap skirt trend, Catt took the skirt from style 121, and paired it with the boxy 268 top with it's chic marabou feather shoulders. Catt styled her look with a bold red lip, pearl headband and the perfect pair of statement heels for that split skirt - Louboutin's!

Jesus Peiro 121 skirt with 268 top

I always knew I wanted a two piece Jesus Peiro was the only designer I had seen and instantly loved. I was amazed at Emma's ability to visualise what I wanted and instantly find options for me, all of which i loved! I wanted a skirt with a slit as i'd planned to wear bright coloured shoes that you'd be able to see. I chose the Jesus Peiro 121 dress, worn as just a skirt - It was actually released as a skirt after Emma suggested it for me! I then tried on a number of tops to go with it and chose the 268 feathered sleeve top. I loved the statement the sleeves gave, and once I teamed it with a simple chapel veil, I knew it was the perfect outfit for me, I literally felt like a princess! My fitting was in April 2021, so I was only able to bring my mum, but there was a huge screen set up so all of my bridesmaids could join on Zoom which was really special. My mum loved how Emma seemed to completely get my style and I know she loved the whole day!

Dress Shopping

My favourite part of the experience was trying on lots of different options before finding the one and then putting the veil, shoes and headband on to complete the outfit. Emma made it the best experience - I love every minute! After the first fitting, the top didn't fit properly, but the whole team were incredibly supportive and put my mind at ease, ensuring it would be ready in time, despite only having two weeks for it to be remade in Barcelona!! When the new top arrived, 2 days before the wedding, it fit perfectly without the need for any alterations at all

Styling

I wore a Victoria Percival pearl headband in my hair with a simple chapel veil. I then had burgundy suede Christian Louboutin heels and matched it with a burgundy Nars lipstick (and a good spritz of glitter spray and Chanel No5!).For my flowers, I had a wild and informal bouquet with Burgundy Spider Chrysanthemums, burgundy Astilbe, eucalyptus and Italian ruscus.

A fun, relaxed wedding at Herons Farm in Reading

We knew from day one that we wanted our day to be very relaxed, with guests mixing and socialising on long trestle tables. The venue were so accommodating and created a menu with all of our favourite vegan sharing dishes including a Syrian dish called Harrak Isbaao - something we made during lockdown with the Migrateful charity and really wanted to have as our main dish. The only exception was the chicken nuggets we had in the evening (Ben proposed in a box of chicken nuggets so we couldn't not!)Our main theme for the day was based around our love for theatre. All tables were named after a play or musical we've seen and guests had a ticket that directed them to their seat in the 'stalls'. The order of service was a playbill and favours were mini vials of tequila, sambuca or peach schnapps with the quote 'I drink to thee' from Romeo and Juliet. We then had simple Italian ruscus, fairy lights and candles throughout the barn. and a pink neon Mrs and Mrs Ashton sign.

The best bits

That's such a hard question! You spend so much time planning and deliberating over the most tiny details but the day seemed to fly by and everything felt perfect! The things you think you'll worry about seem to not matter at all on the day.During the church ceremony, Ben's good friend Danyl sang 'Oh Happy Day' from Sister Act II with the congregation joining in - that was really special and was so lovely to see all of our favourite people singing along!I also loved our first dance, Beautiful Life by Zac Abel, which was was the start of a night of dancing to the most incredible garage and R&B band who filled the dance floor until midnight. The night ended with everyone belting out Total Eclipse of the Heart!

Catt's Advice

It's great to start with a huge storyboard on Pinterest, before narrowing it down to exactly how you want your outfit and the day to look - it doesn't matter if you don't know exactly what you want to begin with as there's so much inspiration out there to help you! Just make sure the day represents all of the things you both love, it's so special to be able to share that with your favourite people.
