Celebrating Jesus Peiro without reflecting the vibrancy of Barcelona is impossible. For 15 years my twice yearly visits to the Catalan capital have been some of the high points of my professional career.
Whenever I need an antidote to mass market looks, Jesus Peiro have delivered. Since my first visit in 2006 to my last trip anywhere outside the UK in December 2019 I have always found the fashion inspiration I crave. When the world was wearing strapless dresses with bolero jackets, Jesus Peiro gave us silk organza coats. When the majority are wearing beaded lace Jesus Peiro give us cotton lace and crochet. When the world’s necklines plunged Jesus Peiro gave us polo necks. The brand excels at providing an alternative look that ranges from extreme classicism to cutting-edge, new silhouettes. Whether sports-luxe, preppy and minimalist is your thing, or the evolving trend for a coordinated wedding wardrobe of separates is on your must have list, the new season collection adds to their catalogue of options for the modern bride.
For the launch of the Textures collection, named for Jesus Peiro’s love of incredible fabrics, I wanted to bring some of the elements that I love about the brand and their home town to our own clients.
Tapas, cocktails, Sonar inspired sounds from our DJ, Scott, (who never misses Barcelona’s coolest electronic dance music festival,) fiesta-bright colours, warm colour washed walls and an outright passion for fashion.
It gave me a chance to dress up, it gave us a chance to celebrate, to throw open the doors for a party and to offer the same inspiration to brides that my pilgrimages to the centre of bridal fashion give me.
