Good morning! Our super gorgeous real bride feature today comes to you from Germany, showcasing Anne-Sophie’s simple, modern wedding to husband Holger. With both of them hailing from the South of Germany, close to the Black Forest, the couple chose to host their wedding in their home country to be closer to family and friends and celebrate in the place they grew up.

Anne-Sophie wore Jesus Peiro 8062 for the day, a simple pretty wedding gown featuring a flattering deep back with cut out strap detailing, finished with a full romantic skirt.

Anne-Sophie tells us more about her dress choice and their day, in her own words…

JESUS PEIRO 8062 WEDDING DRESS

I chose Jesus Peiro 8062 as my dress. It was the perfect dress for me – minimalist and chic but with an attitude.

I loved the high neckline and the low back, which meant I was able to show off some skin without feeling naked. I had the train shortened a little as I wanted to be able to move and dance freely without having to worry about tripping over my dress. Absolutely the right decision for me: I was comfortable all day long and the dress was perfect for both our church ceremony as well as the party afterwards. I’m still sad I won’t get to wear the dress again!

DRESS SHOPPING

I brought my sister and my mother-in-law to my first appointment at Miss Bush. We all immediately loved the boutique’s style and how welcoming everyone was. I came to Miss Bush as I wanted to try on the Evan dress by Maggie Sottero that I had seen in a magazine. I loved it, but of course I tried on other dresses too and especially liked the Jesus Peiro 8062 that Emma suggested. In the end I was torn between these two very different dresses and knew I had to come back another time to try them on again. I went on my own the second time and as soon as I put the Jesus Peiro dress back on I knew that this was the one for me. My sister and mother-in-law afterwards both said they knew I was going to choose this dress from the start.

As weird as it might sound, I really enjoyed going back alone to Miss Bush for the final dress decision. And although I had to calm my nerves with some champagne it felt very special doing this on my own; I felt in very good hands and completely trusted Emma’s advice.

STYLING

I was pretty sure from the start that I didn’t want a classic veil – and trying one on at Miss Bush definitely confirmed this. It just wasn’t me at all and felt way too serious. I wanted something a bit more unusual and fun, so I decided on a birdcage veil. As I couldn’t find one that I was completely happy with I ended up making one myself. The birdcage veil for me really brought the whole look together and I got lots of compliments for it.
My shoes were glittery blue sandals with a block heel – super comfortable and made for dancing the night away.
My only jewellery apart from the rings were my earrings and I went with large crystal studs.

A SIMPLE, MODERN WEDDING IN GERMANY

We got married in a church ceremony which was made very special by wonderful music and readings from our family and friends. The church has a beautiful interior and therefore didn’t need any flowers, just some greenery.

Our reception took place in an artist’s former workshop; a modern and bright industrial space surrounded by a sculpture park. Our guests were able to enjoy the lovely summer afternoon wandering through the park while having some drinks – it was great, especially as we had a lot of kids celebrating with us as well.
We kept the decorations really simple with white block candles, some foliage and geometric paper elements which I made myself. We invested in professional lighting instead which really paid off. The space looked amazing when it turned dark!

THE BEST BITS

It’s difficult to pinpoint the best part of the day as there were so many beautiful moments. One of the highlights was definitely our first dance though. We had taken lessons and surprised our friends and family with a dance routine – we will never forget the looks on their faces and the whoops and cheers from everyone.

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

Go with what you want and not with what you think you should be doing – make this day about the two of you and it truly will be one of the best days of your life.
