Harriet in Suzanne Neville Amber for an elegant garden party wedding at home
Suzanne Neville's Amber wedding dress arrived in September 2019 as part of the 2020 Flores collection - we fell in love with Amber's square neckline, structured bodice, sleek silhouette and striking shoulders and it was an instant hit with Miss Bush brides. Sadly, it has taken 18 months for us to finally see a real bride wearing it, so you can imagine the excitement at The Chapel when we saw these beautiful images from Harriet and Jack's wedding!
Inspired by the gorgeous wedding in 'Father of the Bride' Harriet and Jack's wedding took place at the bride's family home, with a marquee in the garden and tons of beautiful florals.

Suzanne Neville Amber wedding dress
This was the first dress I tried on at Miss Bush, and I just loved it and knew it was the one. I had seen it on the Miss Bush instagram and messaged a screenshot to my sister saying that I had to try it on. I just loved the neckline and the buttons down the back, it made me feel confident and so excited to wear it on the day.
I brought my mum and sister (maid of honour) to the appointment with me and they loved it, especially once I had put the veil on.
Dress Shopping
I had been to one other boutique before visiting Miss Bush, and the experience was not even half of what we had at Miss Bush. Emma is amazing at what she does and has all the best tips and advice about the dresses.
We had to postpone our wedding date from July 2020 to June 2021; the team at Miss Bush were amazing at delaying the whole process for a year for me, and rescheduling all of my appointments.
Styling
I wore Ivory satin shoes from Rainbow Club, which were really comfy. For jewellery, I wore a pair of my mothers diamond earrings and a sapphire bracelet, for my 'something borrowed & blue.' I also wore a satin edged veil. As my dress had a strong neckline, I didn't feel it need any more accessories.
An elegant garden party wedding at home
It was always my dream to have my wedding at my parents house in the garden - my favourite film growing was 'Father of the Bride.' The colours we went for were sage and blush pink for the flowers, stationery, bridesmaids etc.
We had long tables in the marquee with lots of flowers and candles to make it feel intimate and romantic (we originally invited 150 guests, but due to covid reduced the guestlist to 50.) One of my favourite touches, were the 2 chandeliers hanging in the marquee.
As we named our tables after our favourite places in Italy, my parents made their own limoncello for after dessert, which was delicious!
The best bits
My favourite part of the day was seeing Jack's face when he realised that I had arranged for a gospel choir to perform during our service. He had been banging on about having a gospel choir as he loves it... little did he know that I had already arranged one! They had the whole church clapping and singing along!
Harriet's Advice
Go with your gut feeling... even though I knew this was the dress for me, I had tried on a much 'safer/traditional' option which I considered, but I just couldn't stop thinking about the Amber dress... and I'm so glad I went for it!
Also, even though Covid has been such a terrible situation for everyone, in a way I was happy that we reduced our numbers, as we managed to have good chats with every one of our guests.
