There was a collective squeal of glee from Team Bush when Kate and Tom's wedding dropped into our inbox. Kate's dress is a very special creation which we'd been particularly excited about seeing, and Sophie Duckworth's wonderful images did not disappoint.

The dress was a completely custom Jesus Peiro piece that was created especially for Miss Bush to celebrate 30 years in bridal last year; our Pearl Anniversary. The dress featured everything we love in a dress; a perfect, elegant fit, full romantic skirt with pockets, and full length fitted sleeves. The ends of the full sleeves were adorned with a scattering of pearls, as a nod to our 30th.

Kate wore the dress for her beautiful, relaxed, nature inspired wedding day, which took place in mid July with s church ceremony at St Martha On-The-Hill followed by a reception at Tom’s family home, Powdermill Cottage.

The Miss Bush Pearl Anniversary dress by Jesus Peiro

I chose the Pearl dress by Jesus Peiro, designed for Miss Bush.

I always knew I wanted a statement but simple dress. I have forever loved pearls and saw this dress hanging in Miss Bush and fell in love at first sight. It really is the dress of my dreams.

It was so elegant, luxurious but simple too. I felt absolutely incredible wearing the dress and didn’t want to take it off.

I took my mum with me when I found the dress because she always gives me 100% honest opinion - friends would say every dress looks nice.

With Emma’s expert advice, along with my mum, we narrowed the dresses down to a few Jesus Peiros.

We both absolutely loved the pearl dress but I was worried I would be too hot in long sleeves in July. My mum took me to one side and said I would be absolutely mad not to get it and it was the nicest dress she had ever seen. High compliments indeed!

Dress Shopping

Miss Bush was the first and only bridal shop we went to, after many recommendations.

It was the best experience I could have ever asked for. I normally get quite stressed shopping for dresses - let alone ‘the one’!

Emma made the whole experience stress free, she really helped by giving honest and constructive advice and the whole experience was calm and easy.

A curveball came a month before the wedding when I discovered I was pregnant! Jo had just taken in my dress quite a bit and I was terrified I wasn’t going to fit in it.

After nightmares of the dress tearing and not even doing up - I went to see Jo, who was an absolute star and took it all in her stride. She was so calm and really eased my nerves. The dress fitted perfectly.

Styling

Pearls, pearls and more pearls.

I bought some gorgeous Miss Clemmie’s pearl earrings at one of the wonderful evenings at Miss Bush.

I had my hair half up with pearl pins scattered in my hair to match the beautiful Jesus Peiro pearl veil.

The shoes, of course had pearls on too, came from Sargasso & Grey. They are renowned for comfortable shoes and they really were so easy to wear without compromising on style. I’d recommend them to everyone.

A a beautiful nature inspired wedding

I was really focused on flowers, food and nature.

Rosie Orr and her incredible team made the most breathtakingly beautiful arrangements and flower arch I have ever seen. They not only looked incredible but smelt beautiful too. Rosie did some really personal touches, like putting rosemary in the buttonholes in memory of Tom’s mother.

Our marquee was situated on the side of Powdermill’s fishing lake, so I really wanted to focus on greens, whites and a few blush pinks. With 12 pet geese and countless ducks and swans, it was the most picturesque and personal venue.

Jacaranda wowed everyone with the most delicious canapés, followed by an incredible three course meal. A guest even said it was the best meal of his entire life! Jules from Jacaranda made the whole experience easy and really helped with advice and planning. I owe her so many thanks.

The best bits

The whole day was incredible, I don’t think I can pick one part above another.

We were so blessed to have wonderful, sunny weather. It had been forecast to rain with thunderstorms for over a week. I even went into Guildford the day before the wedding and bought 15 umbrellas, but thankfully we returned them on Monday completely unused!
