We're delighted to share the wedding of Joanne and Mike with you today, which took place in July, at the beautiful Iscoyd Park in Wrexham, Wales. The entire day took place at the stunning Country House and grounds, with a romantic ceremony taking place in the idyllic walled gardens. The couple celebrated their marriage with a stunning reception filled with colourful seasonal flowers, delicious food and fabulous music.

Joanne wore Suzanne Neville's Coworth wedding dress, which was just made for an English Country House wedding in Summer. The dress features a perfectly fitted bodice with wide shoulder straps and a v-neckline. Joanne chose to have the skirt customised without the split. To style her dress, Jo wore Loeffler Randall's iconic sandals in gold, along with an exquisite veil from Couture Veil adorned with romantic 3D flowers.

Read on to find out more about Joanne's dress, and her wonderful wedding to Mike.

Suzanne Neville Coworth wedding dress

I visited a lot of wedding dress shops (probably too many!) but I was able to hone in on what the sort of dress that I would like and rule out plenty of others along the way. As soon as I first put on a Suzanne Neville dress, I knew that it would be hard to choose a dress by another designer. Her dresses are beautifully made, classic and it’s lovely to be able to buy from a British designer too! I chose the Coworth dress without the split – beautiful, timeless, and with a fantastic train on it. Why not go all out!?

My Mum and Grandma came with me to the dress fitting at Miss Bush. We went for the 2023 Suzanne Neville collection launch at Miss Bush with Suzanne there herself which was very exciting! I think my Nana knew straight away which one I should go for although I found it quite difficult to choose between three at the end but the classic option was the best option for me.

Dress Shopping

My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was having my Mum and Grandma there and being in such a lovely setting (a chapel) to choose my wedding dress, as well as having Emma and Suzanne Neville there to guide me.

There’s always so much focus on what the bride looks like when it comes to getting married and I found that quite overwhelming. It’s great that Miss Bush has such a great ethos and approach – they’ve definitely got it right.

Styling

I went for a long, double veil with some petal detailing at the end from Couture Veil, Sassi Holford (also made in the UK) and some statement earrings. My gold shoes with the signature bow were from Loeffler Randall (very popular but I had my eyes on them in either green or gold from 2021 and couldn’t help myself!) They’re super comfy too!

A country house wedding at Iscoyd Park in Wrexham, Wales

Iscoyd Park is the most wonderful venue with great décor, beautiful grounds, amazing food and drink, and the best team! Kate, our wedding coordinator was absolutely fantastic! With a July wedding, we wanted it to be full of colour like summer itself so we went for colourful bouquets and bridesmaid dresses in a lovely coral colour. We focused on flowers that were in season and grown locally near to the wedding venue. Top tip: reuse your flowers in different places throughout the day to reduce the cost. We are both foodies so great food and drink was super important to us and that’s something that Iscoyd is fabulous at. We also hired in oysters as a surprise to go with our canapes and bubbles. Music wise, we had a string quartet for our ceremony and drinks reception and later in the evening we had a Motown band which was great fun! The most important thing to us was to have an amazing time and lots of fun!

The best bits

We were so lucky to have the outdoor ceremony we wanted before the heavens opened later that day! And having lots of fun with all our nearest and dearest!

Joanne's Advice

Relax, let yourself get creative and have fun! It’s fab to have a great dress but the most important thing is having the best time on the day itself and the marriage afterwards!
