Colette & Adam's wedding was a wonderful celebration of their marriage at Ashridge House, Berkhamstead. The day took place in September, with beautiful 'Spanish Regal' styling inspired by the elegant location and the bride's Spanish roots.

Colette wore Jesus Peiro's 2449 wedding dress. Made from textured dotty taffeta, this stunning gown has a classic Jesus Peiro silhouette with statement full skirt. The bodice is completed with a low v-neckline, open square back and capped sleeves with creative petal shoulder detail. Colette styled her dress with a bold embellished headband, a romantic veil and a pair of iconic Manolo Blahnik Hangisi heels for her 'something blue.'

Jesus Peiro 2449 wedding dress

I loved this dress, it was a last minute change 3 months before the wedding but when it came in and I tried it on with Ben, I knew it was meant to be!

I originally visited Miss Bush with my Mum, Step-Mother in Law and Sister in Law in August 2022 and decided on a different dress which was still by Jesus Peiro still but a slightly plainer design. When I came for my fitting in June 2023 on my own, I saw the JP2449 hanging up and fell in love, specifically the fabric and little sleeves. All of the details on it were so beautiful and well thought out that I knew I had to try it on. When I did, it just felt finally like I had that moment of 'this is the dress!' It made me feel like a princess and I didn't want to take it off. Through sheer luck, my dress hadn't been ordered yet, so I was able to swap it and have the JP2449 instead. It felt like all my dreams came true. As no one else had seen it, it meant on the morning of the wedding I was able to do a reveal to my bridal party and the photographer perfectly captures their faces.

Dress Shopping

My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was the time I spent with Ben. Ben was so knowledgeable, listened to all of my concerns and questions but also gave me real honest advice. I don't think I would have chosen this dress and bought it from Miss Bush if it wasn't for him, so thank you again.

The team at Miss Bush, went above and beyond, allowing me to change the dress so close to the wedding and still manage to get all my fittings in before the big day. It was truly a stress-free process, which kept the excitement for the big day.

Styling

My theme for my outfit and the wedding was Spanish-Regal. This was because, firstly, I am half Spanish and secondly the venue, Ashridge House, was a royal residence for King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I.

I added the largest underskirt/petticoat to make it look as big as possible, I loved the feeling of wearing a huge dress! I combined the deep V of the JP 2449 with a full length classic veil, adding a pearl head band and tear drop earrings, which combined together made my vision come to life!

Hidden underneath were my trusted 'something blue' Hangisi, Manolo Blahnik shoes - you can spot them on one of the many pictures.

A 'Spanish Regal' inspired wedding at Ashridge House

The theme of Spanish-Regal, the venue, outfit and flowers all combined really made our vision come to live. The pictures speak for themselves. Some of the rooms at Ashridge House also dont need a lot of styling as they are so beautifully designed.

The best bits

The moment I walked down the aisle/stairs and Adam saw my face. Id completely thrown him off with what style of dress I was going for so he was pleasantly shocked when I walked out with my mum to meet him. He called me his princess all day, which is exactly how I felt.

Colette's Advice

Don't rush the process! This is one of the biggest decisions and purchases, if it doesn't feel right, keep looking or speak to the team at Miss Bush for how it could be customised.
