Rosie and Alex were married in May on the Isle of Wight, a special places to our couple where the bride grew up and the groom spent many summer holidays with family. The ceremony took place at St Mildred's Church in Whippingham, followed by a beautifully styled reception in the spectacular stone barn at The Barton Estate.

Rosie wore Jesus Peiro 246; a crisp, striking wedding dress with puff sleeves, a deep v neckline and full romantic skirt. Rosie customised her dress with some slighter shorter sleeves and a longer, sweeping train. Rosie kept her look simple and classic, with simple pearl earrings and white block heeled sandals.

Custom Jesus Peiro 246 wedding dress

Absolutely loved the classic, crisp look. I never would have thought I would end up with puffed sleeves, but they were so flattering and unique. The V front and back also gave a really youthful, hip, look. I felt amazing wearing the dress and danced all night long in it - did not want to take it off! I ended up shortening the puffed sleeves and extending the trail which worked perfectly. I can't thank Emma and Willow enough for all of their help. I was like putty in Emma's hands - I just completely trusted her and didn't feel the need to step foot in another shop. My whole journey was with Miss Bush and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

My first trip was with both my mum and mum in law. This was quite an emotional session seeing myself in a wedding dress! I came back with my mum a few times trying various different styles and spending time considering what I would feel the most comfortable in and what would suit me best. It was very exciting for us when we decided on the custom version of Jesus Peiro 246.

Dress Shopping

It was such a bonding experience to go to Miss Bush with my mum, who would travel up from the Isle of Wight for my appointments. It was fun to be the only ones that knew what the dress would look like until the big day! It was always a pleasure listening to Emma's advice on the dress as well as styling. She just got it spot on. I felt like Emma read my mind in my first appointment when I wasn't really feeling something but was a little afraid to say, as she would say it first!

Willow was very patient and calm in the final weeks when after months of not really changing in shape too much the wedding diet suddenly hit quite drastically. Of course, I was delighted to have managed to shed a few pounds however this meant a few more amendments needed to be made... Willow handled this really professionally and amended the dress beautifully.

Styling

I was looking for the perfect shoes for a while. I felt there really wasn't too many in the 'mid-price' range. I wanted to get ones that were crisp white like my dress, with a bit of gold. I unexpectedly came across the perfect Kurt Geiger pair, and ended up getting the nude pair as well for other occasions! They were perfect height and very comfy. I danced all evening without taking them off - with the exception of some white cowboy boots for 'these boots were made for walking' of course. These were a gift from my hen party.

I then just styled the dress with some Monica Vinader pearl drop earrings. I kept it simple, as the dress was the star of the show.

A rustic barn wedding on the Isle of Wight

My favourite colours are green and gold, so we started with this as a theme. After finding the perfect venue which was a barn, we knew we would be going for a rustic style. The barn is very well kept and was lovely as it is, so we also kept the decor quite simple with potted plants. This worked well as they lasted for ages long after the wedding! We used my family tartan to wrap around the pots, which was a way of honouring my grandparents who were unable to be there.

The best bits

It's a very hard one, there were so many special moments. The ceremony itself was wonderful and what it was all about. Walking down the aisle seeing all of our family and friends being there to celebrate with us was particularly special.

Rosie's Advice

Trust Miss Bush! I speak with many friends whom go to shop to shop in search of the perfect dress, I think this can cloud your view on what you actually want. I think trusting the process is the best thing you can do.
