Beth and Iwan were married at the stunning Gellifawr Woodland Retreat in Gwaun Valley, amongst breath-taking scenery of Pembrokeshire National Park. Their beautifully styled wedding day was inspired by the woodland venue, with rustic elements, natural wood and foliage with tons of beautiful white flowers.

Beth wore Suzanne Neville's incredible sculpted Calla wedding dress. Thanks to Suzanne Neville's famous hidden inner corsetry, the dress fit perfectly, along with elegantly draped off-the-shoulder sleeves and plunging neckline. Beth styled her look with glamorous make up and classic diamond jewellery, all finished with a romantic two tier veil.

Suzanne Neville Calla wedding dress

I chose Calla by Suzanne Neville. It was the first dress Emma gave me to try on after first meeting me, and it was like she just knew it was meant for me! Every dress I tried on after that just didn't feel the same. I love all of Suzanne's dresses but there was something about Calla that just felt so me. I felt like it was so elegant and classy but the neckline made it fun and flirty at the same time.

Dress Shopping

I came on my own to my first appointment and although a little anxious before I arrived.. It was the best thing I ever did! Emma just made me feel so welcome and at ease. It gave me the chance to try things on and decide how I felt about them without the opinions of others. Once I narrowed it down to 3 of Suzanne Neville's dressed I took my mum back with me and two of my best friends, although I knew it was Calla that I would be walking down that aisle in. My mum cried when she first saw me in it, and the girls loved it as much as me.

I loved the whole experience at Miss Bush. It felt so much more luxury than the other boutiques I had gone to. Not only that but Emma was AMAZING as well as Rosie and the rest of the team. Trying on wedding dresses is something I had dreamed of all my life, and then I realised the reality could be a lot more stressful, however, they took that stress away. Having the dress couture just meant that it really felt like the dress was made for me. The attention to detail on my dress fittings was everything.

Styling

I wanted a timeless look. Something that I wouldn't look back at in years to come and think "what on earth was I thinking?" I also wanted to represent me. I went for a low slicked back bun with a sweeping fringe, with diamond dropped earrings. My husband bought me a simple diamond pendant necklace to wear on the day. I originally wanted a pair of Jimmy Choos, but I have to admit, I found a pair of fabulous court shoes on ASOS for £30 and they were perfect, with a block heel of course for climbing those Welsh mountains to get the perfect shot. I chose a double tiered veil with a hint of sparkle which accentuated my diamond accessories.

About the Day

I wanted the décor to be traditional for a wedding but with a slightly woodland theme to fit the venue. We had a statement flower arch for the ceremony with white roses, with the bouquets also containing white roses, thistles and greenery for a refined look with a rustic edge to it. The bridesmaids wore champagne and the groom and groomsmen in a dark brown tweed suit with champagne ties.

The best bits

The best part of the day for me was from the speeches onwards. Climbing the Welsh Mountains in the wind with my new husband was an adventure and a special moment for just the two of us. We relaxed, had a really good laugh and got some fabulous pictures.

Bethan's Advice

We all dream of our wedding dress growing up but don't put too much pressure on yourself. Go with what YOU love and what YOU feel best in. Don't be afraid to go to an appointment on your own, it was the best thing I ever did. Be open minded, what you have in mind might be the complete opposite of what you chose. Lastly, ENJOY! Because once you chose that dress, that's it, no more trying on dresses!
