As the late, great, Dame Vivienne Westwood said “There’s nowhere else like London. Nothing at all, anywhere.” We absolutely adore a London wedding - there's just something so special about wedding portraits taken against the backdrop of our capital city. Charlotte and Niall's wedding is the perfect example of this, with shots taken in the city streets complete with iconic red telephone boxes and a vintage London bus. The wedding took place in October, at St Georges Town Hall, East London, followed by a reception at Balfour St. Barts a traditional London pub near Smithfield market.

An iconic location needs an iconic dress. Charlotte chose a bespoke creation from Jesus Peiro, combining elements she loved from styles 123, 175 and 2266. The finished look was a show-stopping gown with statement puff sleeves, a chic fitted bodice and dramatic full skirt. Charlotte finished her outfit with bold accessories including a satin headband, eye catching drop earrings, the most fabulous Terry De Havilland platforms and a cult classic Antonia bag from British fashion brand Shrimps.

A bespoke Jesus Peiro wedding dress

I went for a real mixture - the bodice of the dress of Jesus Peiro 123, the skirt of 175 (with pockets and a shorter train) and the sleeves were based on 2266.

The dress I envisaged didn't exist. I knew I wanted a higher neck and back with sleeves, preferably in Mikado. I knew you could tweak the designs at Miss Bush having read reviews, but Ben was so helpful from the first appointment, he really was an integral part of the design!

Dress Shopping

I took my two best friends with me, they loved everything I put on so I felt I needed a fresh pair of eyes for the second appointment. The fresh eyes told me to go big with the sleeves and I'm so glad I did.

Trying on my actual dress for the first time was my favourite part of the whole experience. As it was designed from all different parts, I never got to experience it as one item until a few months before the wedding (I was late booking my first appt!)

Styling

I wanted accessories that I would wear again and I'm not very traditional. I went for Simona Rocha earrings, a mini Antoinetta Shrimps bag and Terry de Havilland Disco shoes!

A relaxed city wedding in London

I wanted a relaxed wedding, not stuffy or formal. I loved the fact we could have the ceremony with all 120 guests in a London townhall, with Routemaster buses taking everyone to the venue - a bar near Smithfield market.

The best bits

I honestly couldn't choose, I enjoyed every minute!
