Pippa and Harry's romantic London wedding took place in late November at the beautiful Old Marylebone Town Hall. Taking place a month before Christmas, the day was relaxed, cosy and intimate, with a simple, personal ceremony followed by a wonderful meal at The Milestone Hotel and Residences.

Pippa's look was inspired by Carrie Bradshaw, with a voluminous skirt with split, perfect for showing off a pair of statement Manolo Blahnik heels. The dress was created by combining elements that Pippa took from two different Jesus Peiro styles; the bodice from 2241 and the skirt from 2300. To style her dress, Pippa add a soft feather trimmed cardigan from Jesus Peiro, along with a simple single tier veil and classic diamond drop earrings.

Custom Jesus Peiro 2241 / 2300 wedding dress

I couldn’t find a dress that was exactly what I was looking for, and so combining the 2241 and 2300 gave me the look I was after. After trying on different styles at Miss Bush and thinking I was after a fitted elegant look, I realised I did want the drama of a voluminous skirt to have a proper Carrie Bradshaw moment on the steps of the Town Hall. Like Carrie, my look also included beautiful Manolo Blahnik shoes. I also opted for the ostrich feather cardigan to keep me warm for a November wedding and also allow for a slight look change when we had the reception. I felt so beautiful on the day and was delighted with my decisions.

When shopping for the dress I brought my mother-in-law to be with me, who is a Ripley local. I really wanted her to be a part of the process as having three sons, she might not have had the opportunity to get involved in the girly parts of a wedding. We had a brilliant time with Emma trying on different looks and nailing down what I wanted. Not something with sleeves after all!

Dress Shopping

My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was the option to choose different aspects of the Jesus Peiro collection and put them together to create a unique look. This is what drew me to try on this designer as I wanted something slightly bespoke and didn’t want to look like any other bride I had seen before. Paired with the cardigan to keep me warm, I knew this was what I was after. Emma gave brilliant advise and let me have as much time as I needed to go back I to different skirts to choose the right one. The experience never felt like a sales push which I had experienced in other boutiques, instead it was all about finding something I felt beautiful in to marry my best friend.

When I first got to try on my dress there was a slight pleat out of place on the front of the dress. The team took pictures and sent the dress back to be altered. It wasn’t a problem at all and I didn’t feel worried about the repair being done in time as everything was ready months ahead.

Styling

I styled my look with the Jesus Peiro ostrich feather cardigan, a beautiful simple veil, drop gold and diamond earrings borrowed from my mother and finished off with the beautiful Nadira Manolo Blahnik heels. Originally I wanted to go for the classic buckle look, but decided the Nadira gave a more contemporary take on the statement wedding shoe.

An intimate London wedding in Marylebone

We woke up well rested at The Milestone hotel after a dinner at Jacuzzi in Kensington just down the road from the hotel. After breakfast together with our family, we went to get ready and Neecol Whyte came to style our hair. She was brilliant at keeping me calm while doing my own makeup for the day. We departed the hotel for the Town Hall where we had the swiftest but personal ceremony with only our immediate family in attendance. Having been nervously waiting in the wings, as soon as I saw Harry excitement overtook and I couldn’t wait to marry my best friend. After the ceremony we left for photographs with the fantastic Diana Vollmerhausen on the streets around the Town Hall and our Hotel. We arrived back for the reception at The Milestone for a cocktail and canapé reception before an exquisite meal and wine pairing. The hotel made us feel like family and we couldn’t have hoped for a better experience for our wedding. Having a very small guest list was the best decision we made. We had the opportunity to make memories with our closest family and enjoy the day together.

The best bits

My favourite part of the day was coming out of the Town Hall as newly weds. Our family was cheering for us but also people in the street and cars beeping there horns. It did feel like a huge moment in our lives.

Pippa's Advice

Only those attending the wedding knew that we were getting married (11 guests of close family). This meant that there were not too many opinions about what we should do and expectations of what the day would be like. We started planning a year in advance and had plenty of time to arrange everything. The hotel did a brilliant job of arranging everything for us including the flowers and our wedding cake. If your venue can do this to ease the stress and number of suppliers you are dealing with, it’s is definitely worth it. Choosing a wedding near Christmas meant that there were cheaper options as it is out of wedding season and everything is decorated beautifully for Christmas so less need to worry about decorating your venues. It looked magical.
