We're delighted to share Holly and Tom's classic Surrey wedding with you today. The couple were married in the chapel at the bride's old school, St George’s College in Weybridge. This was followed by a beautiful celebration at popular local venue Gate Street Barn in Guildford.

Holly wore Jesus Peiro's 166 wedding dress; a signature Jesus Peiro design featuring their iconic crossed back straps with a simple round neckline and full ballgown skirt with pockets. Holly styled her look with a sleek up do, stunning Jimmy Choo diamante heels and timeless jewellery.

Jesus Peiro 166 wedding dress

I wore Jesus Peiro 166, and it was - and still is - my absolute dream dress. I’d seen it on Miss Bush’s website before my appointment and really felt like it was The One, but so many people told me “no one ends up wearing what they think they will!” So, I tried to go in with an open mind, but secretly just really wanted it to feel right - and as soon as I put it on, I knew.

I really wanted something plain, classic and timeless, but with a bit of an edge. The sports-style back was just perfection to give it that little modern twist I was looking for, while the full skirt was key for me so that I would feel comfortable in it all day long - even after canapés, a four course meal, and a fair amount of fizz…

Dress Shopping

We were very much in the midst of the pandemic, so my VIP appointment that was meant to include my mum, sisters and bridesmaids ended up being just me and my mum - in masks - with my sisters watching (and scoring!) along on your wonderful Zoom set up. I wouldn’t change it for the world. My mum cried when I put the veil on with the dress - that’s when I knew it was definitely the one.My mum found her dress at Miss Bush in 1991, so it was such a special moment.

I loved every moment of the trying on experience - particularly the wildcards Emma encouraged me to try on. I found my dress on my first day of wedding dress shopping - in the first shop - so I’m so glad I carried on a big range of styles, shapes and designers.

I kept (accidentally!!) getting thinner at the end - not a problem I’ve ever had in life before or since haha - so I think I ended up with 3 ‘final’ fittings and attempts to take the dress home. Everyone was SO patient and made sure it fit perfectly on the day. Not to mention keeping the dress in storage for an extra 12 months when we were forced to postpone!

Styling

I styled the dress with a simple veil from Miss Bush, with beautiful pearls scattered across the train. Shoes were Jimmy Choo - an absolute dream come true, and comfortable enough to still be wearing on the dance floor 10 hours later! Accessories (earrings and hair clips) were Hermione Harbutt.

About the Day

The day was the perfect mix of traditional yet relaxed that we really wanted! We had a Catholic ceremony at my old school, where my parents were married and I was christened, followed by a rustic, barn reception at Gate Street Barn.Plenty of sunshine, laughter, dancing and booze flowing made it the best party I’ve ever been to! We’d postponed a year because of the pandemic and so it felt so wonderful to finally have our special day.

The best bits

My favourite part of the day was the moment right after the first dance when all our friends joined us on the dance floor and then no one left it for about 4 hours!!! Perfection.
